Couchsurfing

Today's post will be about couchsurfing.
Earlier, writing about Budapest, I wrote about our host Gabor. We slept in his home for free, because that is the idea of a social network-couchsurfing. We started our adventure with couchsurfing in 2010. From that moment we meet fantastic people - from Spanish police officer with house with a swimming pool to a Moroccan guy with his own kasbah in the desert.

This portal has over 2 million users already and yet we had the situation that made us want to say, "the world is a small place!". We were drinking chocolate tea in Vienna and talking our host (actually it was the two of them) and an additional surfer (except us) Lisa, from Australia. We said to Lisa that we don\t know a lot of people from Australia, and that actually she is the second person we know, because before we hosted one Australian in Gdynia. When we told her his name she smiled and said that she had met him in Tallinn (they didn't know each other before) in the hostel, and he told her that he was in Poland ..

Couchsurfing is not only for saving money, we sometimes choose the hostel to sleep because we value our privacy but still we meet people from couchsurfing (because besides offering accommodation-people can offer to show you the city or meet up for coffee / tea / whatever )
